Makeup Lab Technician

Pay Range: $20-$22/hour

Job Description:

9-month contract with the possibility of extending or converting to permanent.

Licensed Cosmetologist for Makeup Product Evaluation

Department: Evaluation Intelligence

Major Function: This lab technician will be responsible for applying makeup products (mascara, foundation, lipstick, eyeliner, etc.) to consumers using standardized application protocols and evaluating the products' sensory properties for application, end look and wear/lastingness.

Completing on-site training for the assessment of makeup products for application performance, end look and wear

Applying makeup products following stated protocol for each study

Evaluating, using established rating scales, the sensory attributes of makeup products when applied to consumers

Photographing consumers after product application and preparing photos for reports

Communicating results from studies to project leader for reporting purposes

Maintaining cleanliness of cosmetology area

Qualifications:

Current Cosmetologist license (NJ)

Strong knowledge of the makeup category and products on the market

Excellent team player

Strong time management and interpersonal communication skills

Must be highly proactive, a go-getter who is eager to train and take on new tasks as needed - ideally someone who shows initiative and asks how/what they can support

Good written and oral communication skills in English

Minimum of 1 year of experience applying makeup products to other people

Ability to apply makeup to the face evenly and steadily

Must be highly computer literate and proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
