Maintenance Specialist Crawfordsville, IN Spartech, LLC is looking for a Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Crawfordsville, IN.The Crawfordsville operation of the organization specializes in extruding and converting flat plastic sheet. The flat plastic sheet can then be converted into different products. It may have graphics added, then die cut into license plates, the "lamp shade" dogs need to wear after a visit to the veterinary clinic, signage, file folders, 3-ring binders, covers for school date books, packaging, for example. We reuse our scrap plastic whenever possible to create our environmentally friendly products. This position is on the 11 pm to 7 am shift, but training will occur on the day shift.
General Summary and Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Maintenance Specialist, as the process equipment electrical and mechanical expert, provides maintenance and engineering support. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for all maintenance and engineering work for the plant.
Key Responsibilities to include: - Responsible for the safe performance of all maintenance and project work.
- Provides direction to maintenance team in support of plant objectives.
- Sets standards for reliability and continuous improvement of equipment.
- Oversees instrumentation and electrical (I & E) maintenance work on a daily basis.
- Understand and complies with contractual agreements with other site companies.
- Implements and maintains e-maintenance system.
- Implements and maintains appropriate equipment PM's and calibrations.
- Analyzes instrumentation, electrical and mechanical maintenance work and resolves repetitive problems.
- Recommends new equipment and/or preventative techniques to improve reliability.
- Provides PLC (program logic controls) installation, programming, and troubleshooting expertise.
- Develops and implements a plan to upgrade the knowledge and skill set of the maintenance craftsmen.
- Available to assist craftsmen with maintenance emergencies.
- Manages capital projects.
- Manages and approves work performed by outside contractors.
- Manages maintenance and capital budget.
- Responsible for applicable code and compliance requirements for maintenance and project work.
Requirements Required Skills/Experience: - Bachelor's in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in data management, process improvement, and problem-solving techniques.
- 2 years of experience leadership experience and managing direct reports.
- 3 years of experience in preventative maintenance, PLC troubleshooting and repair, mechanical, maintenance, industrial maintenance, and electrical.
- Analytical skills and the ability to multitask.
