Your Job Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Performance Leader to support our Mechanical Maintenance Team at our Pulp & Paper Operations facility in Palatka, Florida. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Leader. The Maintenance Performance Leader will work with leaders from maintenance, operations, and engineering to develop both short-term and long-term maintenance strategies to ensure the safety, reliability and performance of maintenance area equipment while providing leadership, coaching and direction for Mechanical Maintenance Technicians. Our Team Georgia Pacific's Palatka Mill is located just south of Jacksonville and west of St. Augustine, FL, the Palatka mill employs about 950 people has six paper machines as well as several converting lines and produces consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels sold under the Georgia-Pacific brand names of Angel Soft, Quilted Northern, Brawny, and Sparkle. What You Will Do Responsible for the performance and development of mechanical maintenance team by Demonstrating strong leadership skills and habits of "best practice". Managing and development of weekly schedules for mechanical maintenance crafts from planned work provided. Managing mechanical maintenance resources and work orders, giving priorities to Safety Work Orders and PM's. Investigating injuries and ensure incident reports and RCA's are completed with follow through Using economic thinking to fill necessary resource gaps. Exhibiting strong leadership skills to motivate and develop a team of hourly employees to continuously improve performance of the individual employees and overall business. Work other MPL's to share resources across the mill to support critical work. Fostering and developing culture based on our Principle Based Management (PBM) Philosophy. Track daily downtime and vehicle/Smartbox KPIs to ensure maximum availability of the fleet and work to improve interpretation of data Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Previous maintenance supervisory experience within a manufacturing, industrial or military environment. Experience leading improvement efforts in reliability, predictive and preventative maintenance. A minimum of five (5) years industrial mechanical maintenance experience. A minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Willing and able to work any shift during outages. What Will Put You Ahead Mechanical Engineering degree OR equivalent industrial mechanical experience Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) - SAP preferred. Experience in Pulp & Paper Industry. Experience leading root cause failure analysis Proven troubleshooting training/experience Experience implementing precision maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability.
