Maintenance Technician - 1st shift (Bedford Park, IL)
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at a production facility. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems onsite. This is a multi-craft maintenance role where you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Utilize basic computer skills for entering maintenance tasks and keeping up with preventative maintenance schedules.
- Address both mechanical and electrical maintenance issues, with a focus on mechanical tasks comprising approximately 70% of the workload.
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, motors, and troubleshooting electrical issues up to 480v, with a basic understanding of PLC troubleshooting.
Strongly Preferred:
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical issues up to 480v and basic PLC troubleshooting.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the coating or paint industry.
- Prior experience with preventative maintenance.
- Familiarity with cutting equipment, welders, robots, coating/painting machinery, or packaging machinery.
Candidate Evaluation:
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and examples of past projects.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with up to 480v and PLCs.
- Previous work with industrial machinery or equipment and industry experience.
- Background in relevant industries.
