Position: Maintenance Engineer

Status: Full Time, 1.0 FTE

The Engineer performs mechanical repairs and renovation on all types of systems to include plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, energy management system, fire alarm system, cable TV, etc., on both portable and fixed equipment. Position may also make repairs on Bio-Med equipment with help from contracted Bio-Med service provider or the manufacturer's representative.

Must be able to meet the physical job requirements and have the ability to spend most of the day on your feet. Position lifts, carries, pushes or pulls a variety of tools, equipment and materials. Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch to gain access to pipes and electrical wiring. Possess good motor coordination and manual dexterity. Possess good vision, depth perception and color recognition. Position will be exposed to noise and vibration from operating machinery.

Must have the ability to adjust to a variety of working conditions as well as learn new and different types of repairs. Able to use diagrams, sketches, manuals, manufacturer's specifications and ability to read blueprints. Use of both hand and power tools is expected, along with precision measuring and testing instruments. Able to start equipment to test performance and complete preventive maintenance procedures while maintaining accurate records is essential.

Qualifications:
Graduate of a trade school program relating to building or equipment maintenance preferred.
One year prior healthcare maintenance experience preferred.
1st Class C Boilers license issued from the State of Minnesota.
Valid Minnesota driver's license (equivalent to MN Class D). Personal driving record must be free of moving violations and be approved by GRH insurance company.
Good practical and technical skillset. Possess strong attention to detail.
Ability to perform mechanical repairs and renovation on all types of systems to include plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, etc. on both portable and fixed equipment.
Low power electrical certification preferred.
Possesses underground oil tank certification.
Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade; skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.
Ability to manage a varied workload.
Possesses the initiative to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong computer knowledge preferred.
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as well as meeting facility call requirements and response times.
Schedule:
This Monday thru Friday position is scheduled 8AM-4:30PM. Their scheduled call weekend they would be scheduled to work Saturday and Sunday from 6AM-8AM. Total of 80 hours per pay period + call.
