The Facility Maintenance Technician is an entry-level maintenance position primarily responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of all aspects in maintaining the buildings, operational equipment, and grounds for all Toledo properties. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs or assists other technicians in a wide variety of basic mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks, based on the knowledge, experience and ability of the individual. Will also keep work areas clean and organized.

Operates a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to perform assigned tasks.

Maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, faucets, drains, etc.

Assists with preventative maintenance on various HVAC systems, such as replacing filters, belts, coil cleaning, etc.

Performs general building repairs, such as replacement of locks, repair of loading dock doors, windows, ceiling panels, etc.

Moves and assembles furniture, pallet racks, equipment, etc.

Performs minor electrical, such as replacing light bulbs, light fixtures, fuses, etc.

Performs various preventative maintenance tasks such as inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency lights, glass breakage, etc.

Assists other technicians on basic repairs or PMs of forklifts and riders using hand and power tools as required. Replaces defective parts, such as fuses, lead parts, switches, wires, and wheels.

Helps warehouse personnel change batteries in equipment as needed.

Perform other duties as needed and assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Vocational or technical certification (Preferred)

Three plus months of practical experience in a service technician or facility maintenance role (Required)

Ability to interpret and apply schematic diagrams. (Preferred)

Valid Driver's License and driving record acceptable to insurance company (Required)

Ability to use various hand tools, power tools, battery, electric and pneumatic, vacuums, dust collectors, ladders and material handling equipment i.e. forklifts and pallet riders

Have or be willing to be trained for Fork Lift Certification (Preferred)

Ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize demands and execute nightly tasks.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information to coworkers, management, internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to walk/stand for most of the shift.

Ability to climb ladders.

Ability to use hands and good eyesight for physical activities, such as frequent use of hand and power tools.

This is a full time position. The typical schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Wage

$23 - $28, depending on experience.
