Mainframe Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Work with customers to define, design, and propose alternative solutions to changing business needs.
2. Work with customers to troubleshoot reported issues.
3. Provide system administration support.
4. Must be able and willing to work weekends and evenings to support on-call responsibilities as needed is required.

Required Experience & Skills:

1. Five years of software engineering experience, including code development, scripting, workflow, and data mapping.
2. Five years of mainframe support experience: COBOL, IMS (DB), DB2, CICS, JCL.
3. Advanced computer system skills include word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and or as a team member.
6. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
7. A four-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is desired.
8. Physical Demands.
9. Sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
