Position Summary

Proactively manage assigned department. Responsible to effectively manage on a daily basis each aspect of the manufacturing process efficiently with the goal being to deliver superior results in a timely manner and in compliance with the company's Core Values and the HTGP Employee Guidebook.

Essential Functions

Corporate:

  • Adheres to the Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) policies and procedures
  • Learns, demonstrates and upholds HTGP Core Values
  • Complies with all HTGP Certification standards; Management System (IATF 16949), Environmental ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 policies and procedures

EHS:

  • Leads by example adherence to all safety policies and procedures

Technical:

  • Control cost within established budgets.
  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding safety, quality, productivity, cost and delivery targets within machining
  • Plans, develops and implements standardization and control plans to meet internal and external customer needs
  • Assures internal and external quality
  • Keeps Management informed of any concerns and potential issues
  • Develops, maintains and enforces strong 5S business practices
  • Generates and understands performance reports
  • Promotes department goals by providing guidance to all team members
  • Ensures team members perform to policies and procedures

  • Ensures effective / sufficient training of new or existing employees
  • Proactively works to avoid employee and production related problems.

  • Administers corrective action / disciplinary procedures

  • Enforces clean philosophy (5S) to maintain a clean working environment and all other HTGP policies and procedures
  • Builds and sustain positive team relations and effectively handles team relation issues
  • Builds and sustains positive relationships with support organizations
  • Directs all group leader activity
  • Communicates effectively to management and team members

Education

  • High School/GED
  • 4 Year Degree (preferred)

Reporting

  • Reports to: Director or designee
  • Direct Reports: 1 - 3

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • 7 - 10 years job related experience preferred.
  • Must be available to move or work on other shifts as needed
  • Flexibility in working hours to include, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Assembly experience is required.
