Position Summary Machine Operators are responsible for production of mailing lead drops. Operators are accountable for inspections, machine adjustments, and verification of correct product. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Setup, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and clean machinery which include a folder, paper cutter, large format ink jet printer, perfect binding equipment and inserter for weekly lead drops Printing jobs on copiers and large format printer Cutting jobs for customers Making postage trays for customers Confirms proper materials are being utilized in the production of products (paper, ink, etc.) Visually inspect products throughout run for quality Maintain high quality expectations of the company Packing and shipping print jobs to customers Receiving paper and properly sorting inventory of products and supplies Safely and efficiently operate a motorized forklift to load and unload mail truck, and to put away warehouse supplies Skills Equipment Maintenance - Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed Operation Monitoring - Watches gauges, dial, or other indication to make sure a machine is working properly Repairing - Repairing machines or systems as needed Troubleshooting - Determining cause of operating errors and deciding what to do about it Interpersonal Skills - Conveys a friendly, positive attitude while always maintaining professionalism Quality Management - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Monitors own work to ensure quality Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures; Completes tasks correctly and on time; Supports organization's goals and values Adaptability - Able to deal with frequent change, delays, deadlines, or unexpected events Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prior experience preferred but not required Capacity to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to troubleshoot machinery. Ability to perform basic math skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. Ability to recognize and arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, colors, mathematical operations). Capable of applying reasoning and common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to stand for long periods at a time. Ability to manual move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Adaptation to changing business operations. Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment.
