About our Endura Products Division We are excited to welcome Endura to the Masonite family in 2023. The company is a leading innovator and manufacturer of high-performance door frames and door system components, operating out of four facilities in NC, TX and OR. Overview The primary purpose of the Moulder Operator (Trainee) is to learn all aspects of the Moulders, including safety, of oneself and crew to OSHA and Endura standards; quality per spec and production, and effectively execute customer specifications. What you will do: Always wear proper eye and ear protection. Always follow proper lockout/tagout procedures. Make sure all employees in your area are following established safety procedures. Make sure no doors, aisles, electrical panels, or fire extinguishers are being blocked with materials. Keep the machine in safe operating condition. Guards need to be in place, hoods, down, etc The handling of tooling (cutter heads) is extremely dangerous, and some are heavy to handle. Cut resistant gloves must be worn when handling tooling. The transport of tooling on carts must be kept to a minimum of two 9" heads or four 4" heads or one 9" plus two 4". Train the crew to work in a safe manner. Ear plugs and safety glasses need to be worn. Hair up (if necessary); no loose clothing. Proper lifting techniques practiced, etc Train crew to know the importance of quality, make sure they have a good understanding of the product that is being run so that they have all the information to make correct decisions when grading. Must be able to work well under pressure. Be capable of figuring yield studies of product being run to assure that we are not wasting wood. Know the different stock used to produce all the different patterns that you're moulding. Know how to read specs to assure that you are running patterns correctly. Keep the area clean and organized. Demonstrate ability to recognize tooling for each profile and assist with tool installation and removal. Demonstrate ability to start up and shut down equipment. Must be able to demonstrate set up of kerf saw and infeed table. Must achieve LOTO certification. Must be able to cut in stones for all our profiles, such as standard door jambs, Brick moulding, Center Mulls, Jamb extenders, etc. Have the self-motivation to keep machine running to get best efficiency possible, a sense of URGENCY at all times to keep machine center running safely and efficiently or getting it back into production. Must be well organized, the operator will be expected to prepare for changeovers by having all tools and equipment ready before set up starts (heads, stones, hold downs, etc ) this will help with quick and efficient change. Must take responsibility and participate in Preventive Maintenance (PM) program. All the moulders at Endura have a required PM schedule that the operator will assist with. Whichever shift the PM is scheduled, that operator must attend. This schedule may require overtime and Saturday work. The operator must do all possible to make sure the machine is set up and running at end of shift before finishing each day. First shift is required at a minimum to stay until next operator relieves his duties. The second shift operator is expected to stay, and finish set up, include setting all stones so machine is in run condition. What you will need: Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting 9th grade completion Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and effectively work as part of a team Must be able to read, write, and understand to interpret documents (like specs) Basic math skills Read caliper, and a measuring tape to 1/32nd Must have hand-eye coordination Prior experience operating a saw and other hand tools, a plus Prior experience with Lockout/Tagout Procedures, a plus Ability to lift 35 lbs Working Conditions Exposed to a normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent.
