Job Summary The Machine Operator will operate a variety of machines to produce precision parts to the required specifications. Additionally, the position will be responsible for inspecting and testing parts to verify conformity to specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes (manual & CNC), milling machines (manual & CNC), grinders, automatic brazing machines or tubing benders. Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers and attribute gages. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Operate multiple CNC machines concurrently. Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems. Inspect equipment, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects Additional duties as required MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Educations and/or Experience High School Diploma or equivalent is required 1 year experience as Machine Operator or relevant experience 1 year experience working within a Job Shop environment SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others Ability to follow and delegate work instructions and process Ability to learn new processes and adhere to standard operating procedures Effective verbal and communication skills Knowledge of watch gauges, or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly Knowledge of conducting test and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance Understanding and ability of future problem solving and decision making Computer Skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal) Mathematical Skills Basic math skills (add, subtract) Other Skills Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holiday hours. Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (only provide if needed) Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and basic maintenance. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines. Experience working with brass alloys. Ability to identify non-conforming items and provide corrective action PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have occasional bending, squatting, climbing, and twisting. There will be occasional usage of his/her hands to power grasp and manipulate objects, tools or controls, and occasional pushing, pulling and reaching above the shoulders. The position requires frequent walking and standing, as well as repetitive usage of hands for simple grasping, fine manipulation, and reaching below shoulder level. Additionally, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift up to 35 pounds with or without assistance. Required to wear PPE (ie. Face, foot, eye, hand, and/or hearing protection on plant floor). WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a manufacturing warehouse environment. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate. Working in manufacturing environment which includes, dust, fumes, cold, and heat, humidity from plating and chemical solutions.
