Machine Operator

As part of its mission, Alphapointe provides preferential hiring to people with vision impairments (legally blind). This is a Temporary position, assignment will last 3-6 months. Job Summary: Ensure raw material has met/passed ISOs quality controlled inspection before sing. Place material in machine in order to produce part of a finished product or a finished roduct. Ensure material being used is made for machine and for the item being produced. Essential Functions: Understand and comply with all company safety policies and procedures and utilize all necessary safety equipment. Understand and comply with the companys Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2008) Help meet daily production goals to manufacture product Be aware of machine capabilities for production of goods Ensure machine is calibrated to perform the task at hand Ensure proper directions are followed to operate machine Ensure that work area is clean and neat Help assure overall cleanliness and safety of work area Be prepared to work overtime as needed Perform all other activities as requested by management Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Experience in various machine operations High school diploma/GED Good mechanical aptitude Working Conditions: Standing for 8 hour shifts Heavy lifting up to 60 pounds Salary: Starting salary: $16.00/hr Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:30am-4:00pm Alphapointe is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
