Machine Operator

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Extrusion Machine Operator. This position is in our PVC facility in Pineville, NC and reports to the Production Supervisor. Job Summary We are seeking an energetic individual with a keen eye to detail and a positive demeanor. The successful candidate will focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement. In this position you will operate and run machinery and production lines which are related to equipment for the purposes of pipe production. You will conduct these activities while ensuring and improving safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control to achieve plant goals. Principal Responsibilities Assist in the line operation of extrusion equipment used to produce pipe aligned with IPEX's procedures and protocols. Notify Supervisor and/or Lead Hands of any non-conformance or unknown conditions and facilitate corrective actions as needed. Perform quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and tape measures. Package pipe in accurate pallet sizes and quantities and document production; identify, transfer, and load material for production. Use basic hand tools. Identify, remove and report scrap in compliance with work instructions. Support and stay in sync with the efforts of the Joint, Health & Safety Committee (JHSC); maintain acceptable housekeeping, environmental and safe working conditions. Inspect and report potential unsafe or hazardous conditions. Exhibit a working understanding of extruders and associated equipment such as hoppers and material loaders, extruder vacuum systems, regrind loaders and carbon black feeders.
