Machine Operator

Basic reading and writing comprehension in English. Basic measuring skills to read English & Metric systems. Must be able to read measuring tape and caliper. Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows. Minimum one (1) year of experience in operating a machine or as machine operator/helper Experience on overhead crane operation. Ability to understand and use Safety Rules and Procedures as well as OSHA standards and regulations. Must exercise a reasonable degree of judgment and possess the ability to recognize appropriate company policies that apply in each situation and follow them. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Metals USA is currently seeking Slitter Operators for their Northbrook, IL facility. The Slitter Operator performs advanced production activities requiring a demonstrated high level of skill and proficiency in material handling, production processes and machine operation acquired through extended experience and training. This position requires accurate math skills, the ability to set up and operate a slitting machine, and previous slitting experience in a metal processing facility.
