Machine Operator

Hiring Company: Boar's Head Provisions Co., Inc. Overview: Responsible for preparing product for soaking. Once product has soaked, position is responsible for using equipment to remove any potential foreign matter from product and transferring to carts and staging for next phase in the production process. Job Description: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the operation of machinery to identify and removal foreign matter from product. Responsible for filling totes with product, along with water and staging product for soaking Responsible emptying soak tanks and transferring product to carts, and railing carts into and out of production areas for additional processing. Responsible dumping product carts into hoppers and then return carts to rinse area to perform rinse and sanitation. Responsible for rinsing carts Preform daily quality inspections and make adjustments to product and equipment as necessary Clean, trouble shoot and complete basic maintenance on equipment Responsible for keeping work area clean and sanitizing equipment Responsible for trouble shooting machine and making minor repairs, as well as assisting in preventative maintenance tasks Responsible for performing tasks as described and assigned by the Department Supervisor/Lead. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Prior machine operator experience (preferred) Ability to operate fork truck and pallet jack Computer knowledge and documentation Must keep pace with line and able to adjust to changing demands and environments quickly. Must work as a team player, ensuring product specifications are attained in a safe and efficient manner and communicate well with other team members. Must follow company's GMP's, SOP's, Plant Rules and Policies. Assist other departments as assigned by Supervisor/Lead/Manager. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must strive to satisfy the requirements of internal and external customers. These positions will require employees to require long work hours (12-hr shifts) during start-up that could also include 6-7day work weeks as the processes ramp up. NOTE: Selected candidate(s) will be evaluated during a 60-day introductory period to ensure they have ability to perform the job as described above.
