TITLE: Machine Operator
DEPARTMENT: Exhaust
REPORTS TO: Exhaust Supervisor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
- Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
- Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
- Set up machines to start production
- Control and adjust machine settings
- Feed raw material or parts into semi-automated machines
- Changes tools and inserts
- Detect unusual occurrences during machining cycles
- Perform quality checks and make necessary tool adjustments
- Switch programs and subroutines for parts' changeovers
- Perform restarts
- Train other operators in the cell
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working as a machine operator
- Knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools
- Understanding of production procedures
- Attention to detail
- Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
- High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
- Well organized and self-directed
- Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
- Proficient in using gauges and tools for measurement
- Have good mechanical ability
- Lift up to 50 lbs repetitively throughout the day
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience preferred in related field
PHYSICAL AND PPE REQUIREMENTS:
Employee is regularly required to:
- Stand
- Use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls
- Talk and hear
- Walk, stoop, crouch and bend
- Reach above shoulders
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
- Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes
