Metal bar grating has many applications but is primarily used as an industrial product because of its high strength, relative light weight, and design that allows for light flow and ventilation. See for more details. Primary Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC processing equipment per job requirements for operations. Start machinery and adjust as necessary to improve overall performance while minimizing scrap output. Perform quality control checks, follow recordkeeping procedures, and report all problems to Management. Complete general fabrication tasks such as welding, plasma cutting, use of a torch, fitting, spot welding, and reading blueprints as needed. Comply with all safety and health regulations as specified by Management. Clean machinery and maintain clean work environment to include upkeep of work area, tool drawers, workstations, and footprint layouts as per 5S standards. Basic Qualifications: Level of experience A-C: High school education. 2-year associate degree program at community or technical college desired. Vocational school courses in mathematics and geometry, blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metalworking, drafting and quality and safety practices are highly recommended. 5 - 7 years related industrial experience. Tools & Equipment: General hand tools used to assist in setup to include wrenches, screwdrivers, grinders, roller tables, jib cranes, overhead cranes, forklifts, welding, plasma cutting, and digital measurement devices. Use of a computer to monitor cutting program and update job progress and status. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
