Machine Operator

Machine Operator Decatur, GA - Natural Stone Summary/Objective This position works within the fabrication, inventory and material handling areas of the department Essential Functions Will work on fabrication of stone, quartz or solid surface materials, depending upon business requirements Responsible for sanding solid surface pieces with electric and air polishing tools as assigned Loading and unloading of granite, marble, solid surfaces and quartz slabs with the use of forklifts and forklift attachments- adequate training will be provided Ensure the proper maintenance of production equipment on a regular basis; filters, dust collectors, oiling of machinery, or other types of devices as assigned Maintain a well-organized, clean and safe work environment Perform additional duties as assigned by management in support of initiatives Competencies/Skills/Abilities High School Diploma or GED required Prior stone or solid surfaces fabrication experience preferred Ability to multi-task and working within specified timeframes Ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed environment Current Fork Life Certification required Ability to problem-solve Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities Work Environment This job operates within a manufacturing environment Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75-80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Employee must hold a valid work authorization.
