Job DescriptionGENERAL JOB SUMMARY
General labor manufacturing position ensures parts are heat treated through an induction heat treat process.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Set up machinery for operation
- Start machinery and make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance
- Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions
- Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor
- Comply with all safety and health regulations
- Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area
- Check specs and load/unload parts on heat treat production lines
- Complete forms recording production results
- Visually verify parts; keep untreated parts separate and identified
- Monitor process, and adjusting times and temperatures according to the instructions
- Perform daily preventative maintenance, remove and replenish fluids/lubricants
- Comply with ISO requirements, safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas - perform 5S cleaning responsibilities
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Previous manufacturing experience helpful but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; able to add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers
- Must be able to learn to read and interpret piece part drawings
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude
- Able to maintain regular and predictable attendance, work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must have reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is performed in a manufacturing setting standing and walking on concrete floors throughout an 8 to 12 hour shift with frequent handling of metal parts weighing 1-5 pounds, visual inspection, occasional bending or reaching, use of hand tools, use of up to 50 lbs. of force to move heavy loads on wheels.
