Machine Operator

Summary: Prairie Mountain Media is seeking a skilled worker who operates and maintains machinery and equipment in various areas such as manufacturing, construction, or production. Come join our team. What you will do: Set up the SLS-2000, SLS 3000 or Kansa to run inserts or the Bravo to run books Responsible for maintenance on the mailroom equipment - grease, oil, etc Ensure that correct inserts goes into the paper on the correct day, and that we meet all deadlines Confirm the right insert is inserted on the right day Assist the machine inserters when needed Verify that books are trimmed to customer specifications Insure bundle counts are correct Keep mailroom clean and orderly Perform as lead during shift Supervise inserters in coordination with assistant mailroom Supervisor Communicates with assistant mailroom supervisor to notify him of any problems related to mailroom operations Tie bales as needed, both paper and cardboard Use forklift and pallet jacks to bring inserts in from warehouse and move finished pallets from machine Strap and shrink wrap finished pallets Responsible for running Bravo bindery What you will bring: Ability to work alone and be a self-starter while taking pride and ownership in the work Work effectively in a deadline oriented environment Computer literacy and ability to clearly communicate information, both verbal and written Attention to detail with great customer service and problem solving skills Demonstrate safe and proper use of safety equipment, shop tools, machinery, etc. Need to be able to work any and all shifts is necessary Know how to use hand and power tools High school diploma or equivalent required Prior mailroom experience preferred Who we are: Prairie Mountain Media, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is a publishing company with a multimedia portfolio of print, niche and digital products.
