Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated Machine Center Operator to join our production team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our machine center, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and continuously improving the quality of our production area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating various machinery within a wood production mill and share our commitment to excellence, safety, and team collaboration. Duties/Responsibilities: Operate and manage the machine center to ensure smooth and efficient production processes. (Machines include: Sander, Saws, Press, and/or Refiner) Conduct regular quality checks on output to ensure products meet or exceed specifications. Collaborate closely with the Maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery to minimize downtime and maintain production flow. Collects and analyzes data related to machine performance, maintains a log following company procedures. Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance quality and efficiency within the area of responsibility. Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, contributing to a safe and positive work environment. Models company core values Required Skills/Abilities: 2-5 years of experience in operating machinery in a sawmill or related wood production environment. Proficiency with a variety of machinery, including sanders, lathes, presses, or similar equipment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail with the capability to learn and retain complex processes and procedures. Strong basic math skills and understanding of complex specifications. Preferred Skills/Abilities: Licensed Boiler Operator is a preferred qualification. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Related experience preferred Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and walking Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
