Position Description:
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Canonsburg, PA. This position is primarily responsible for supporting import/export compliance initiatives. Partner with Freight Forwarders, Governmental Customs Agencies, Customs Brokers, and Business units to coordinate information for submission to government agencies and assist in establishing procedures to achieve compliance. Responsible for the integrity of data declared to the government. Ensure all departments are following procedures as outlined in the Legrand Import/Export Compliance Manual. Assist in the C-TPAT program.

What Will You Do?

Customs Documentation:

Liaison with customs broker(s) for day-to-day activity as well as issue resolution.

Support Audits import/export documents in advance of shipments and review for completeness and accuracy of data required to perform the customs entry process, including Importer Security Filing (ISF) at origin.

Support compliance with import/export activity through documentation, reporting, and maintaining current with the Bureau of Customs, Border Protection, Census Bureau, and other government agency regulations.

Maintain metrics associated with trade compliance activities.

Support import/export records and documents.

Support in research and preparation of binding rulings, scope rulings, post-entry amendments, CF28s, and CF29s.

Support HTS Classification (US and International), Schedule B assignment for all material categories.

Support in the collection, and validate product and vendor data to support COO, BAA, and TAA claims.

Prepare and file USMCA agreements as requested or required.

C-TPAT:

Assist in the maintenance of the Legrand C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program including conducting employee training, audits, and documentation.

Import/Export Manual Compliance:

Support training around import/export compliance for internal customers.

Continued maintenance of the Legrand Import/Export Compliance Manual.

Assist in maintaining item-level classification of HTS codes, Schedule B codes, and ECCN classifications with support such as binding rulings (whether ours or another company's).

Coordinate with the Shipping/Receiving departments to ensure quantity discrepancies are noted and reported to customs brokers.

Responsible for timely and accurate responses to government inquiries, and working with business units to obtain needed information.

Take an active role in initiating and assisting with the creation, development, documentation, and implementation of logistics-related processes and procedures, including correcting deficiencies, improving reliability, or increasing efficiency.

Miscellaneous:

Management of interplant orders through support of team functions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all paperwork.

Oversight of contract manufacturing and stillage allocation.

Complete weekly freight and parcel audit and reporting.

Support functions of the shipping department as needed (freight quoting, etc.).

Build rapport and strengthen relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Acts as a backup to the Logistics Manager as needed.

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Required Skills

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

Associate's degree required in business administration supply chain management or other related area

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in international transportation and customs compliance experience; or a combination of relevant education and experience.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

3+ years of overall knowledge and understanding of Customs & Border Protection laws and regulations.

Relevant professional qualification in trade compliance and/or logistics.

Ability to interpret government regulations and have a general understanding of technical language.

Basic knowledge of international air and ocean transportation.

Export Administration Regulations (EAR) including anti-boycott regulations, sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customers Regulations (CR), and the Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR).

Must be able to function in a deadline-driven environment and demonstrate flexible and efficient time management to appropriately prioritize workload.

Must be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through skills.

Proven ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.

Ability to work with middle and upper management to meet expectations.

Proven ability to be an effective contributor to cross-functional projects.

Proven ability to make sound decisions within established guidelines.

Must possess a high degree of professionalism.

Computer literate (MS Office, e-mail, US Government Import Export Systems, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with the C-TPAT program.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.

General office environment.

Requires regular ground travel to other company facilities within the local metropolitan area.

Long-distance or air travel including international, as needed - not to exceed 10% travel.
