Job Description:
OVERVIEW

The Logistics Team Leader will motivate and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results. This individual will provide daily supervision of the Cereal warehouse team. The Buffalo Cereal Warehouse consists of 37 forklift production employees across 3 shifts, a shipping/receiving office, 24 Automated Guided Vehicles and management of the inbound and outbound flow of raw and finished materials.

General Mills - Buffalo is a multi-platform union facility with over 400 employees leading the safe, high-quality production of a wide range of products. The plant supports the Cereal and Convenience and Food Service Operating Units. This Team Leader position will play a critical role in leading a zero-loss culture specifically in our Cereal business.

SCHEDULE

Our Buffalo plant will have a 12-hour shift with a 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off schedule that will be from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The schedule may vary during training and look for willingness to work overtime, alternative shifts, or during weekends or holidays, as needed to support the plant operations. This plant is running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Identify, initiate, and lead safety improvement initiatives while addressing safety concerns immediately

Provide business leadership which demonstrates commitment to department and plant goals on a day to day basis, driving a commitment to results

Effectively conduct team meetings to communicate organizational and policy changes

Support raw material and finished goods inventory management practices

Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees in order to foster an engaging environment

Facilitate, coach, counsel, and guide the work group to ensure that they have the ability to deliver results

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma / GED and 1-3 years logistics experience in a manufacturing environment or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills

Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change

Strong understanding of manufacturing technology and providing solutions to technical challenges

Strong conceptual skills and ability to implement change

Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills while bringing a mature approach to challenging situations

Effective computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Flexibility to work off shifts, weekends, and holidays as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree

Experience in an ERP and WMS platforms like Blue Yonder, SAP, Red Prairie, etc.
