Loads Flight Test Engineer

Lockheed Martin at Edwards AFB, CA F-35 aircraft is seeking a full-time Level 3 load/structures engineer in our flight science discipline engineering team. The candidate will perform real time structural flight test monitoring as well as pre and post flight analysis and documentation. This includes test plan development, pre-flight loads predictions, test card review against structural airframe limitations and clearances. Candidate will be responsible for tracking instrumentation issues and anomalies, coordinating
instrumentation repairs and conducting pre-flight load predictions. This position involves significant teamwork and coordination with flight test co-workers
in a variety of disciplines (pilots, mechanics, and inspectors, instrumentation, and data
technicians), qualification or certification authority representatives and subject matter experts. This job will require some off shift and weekend work. Extended hours may be required. A level 3 employee Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline. Experience with statics OR dynamics OR fluid mechanics OR aerodynamics Experience with Flight Test. Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
Desired Skills:
-Flight test background with envelope expansion experience
-Experience with IADS real time and test data request post flight test tools
-Experience in static loads analysis, structural analysis, aero/performance, stability & control, mass properties
-Experience in post flight test data requests and analysis
-Conduct pre-flight load predictions
-Calculate various static loads

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
