This job is primarily responsible for performing all tasks dealing with product loading operations at a soybean processing location. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, loading trucks, barges and railcars per daily loading instructions, sampling product, storing sample, completing required documentation for loaded products, and housekeeping in the assigned area. Additionally, when applicable this job will assist in the processing plant working in any or all parts of the plant as directed by management and be able to assist in barge switching of meal or oil barges as needed. In this job, you will: Fully participate in the company Safety Program, Quality Program and attends daily pre-shift meetings. Perform all duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable); including wearing appropriate PPE for task being performed. Load trucks as they arrive, barges and railcars per loading schedules. Handle any rail switching inside the Port. Ensures that samples of meal loading for each container, truck, railcar, or vessel and store samples are complete. Seal oil truck and document; provide seal packets for meal cars; provide seals for oil cars and barges. Complete all documentation. Recycle samples once they reach expiration date for length of storage. Conduct daily inventory. Perform deckhand duties, as needed. Other duties as assigned; including performing housekeeping in meal loadout area and working in any or all parts of the plant as required by management assisting with operations or maintenance when an imminent or urgent issue arises. Here's what you'll need to be considered: Education Required - High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Required - None. License/Certification Required - Weigh Master Certificate. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic computer skills. Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization. Basic mechanical skills and aptitude. Ability to perform all duties while maintaining security. Ability to perform all duties and tasks safely without posing harm to oneself or others. Ability to complete documentation requirements. Ability to apply common sense and logical thought process to interpret oral and written communications and recommend alternative solutions to mechanical problems. Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment. Ability to use tools appropriate for assigned task. Here's additional information you need to know: Physical Demands & Requirements Ability to perform heavy lifting that includes up to 20 lbs. daily, 60 lbs. occasionally, and ask for assistance on anything over 60 lbs. Ability to climb ladders or stairs repeatedly to significant elevation. At least 30 feet before a rest, and a total height of up to 120 feet. Ability to be able to use a 300 pound rated ladder on regular basis. Ability to meet requirements of PFT and fit testing, when applicable. Ability to meet requirement of and utilize all applicable PPE, when applicable. Ability to work at elevated heights (100+ feet). Ability to grasp and reach constantly/continuously. Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person and over two-way radio. Ability to understand and communicate written instructions. Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions. Ability to work the entire normally scheduled shift (including rotating shifts) and overtime when necessary. Ability to work in an environment with high dust levels. Uses peripheral vision and depth perception for tasks being performed. Environmental Conditions The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment.
