How the Role fits In: The loading operator performs the activities required in the loading/unloading of products, raw materials, rework, and process intermediate materials.They are qualified to operate all equipment associated with the loading/unloading of tank trailers and railcars.They are also qualified to perform general duties in process units in support of production. Responsibilities AND Accountabilities SHE Stewardship Maintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all INEOS safety policies and procedures. Understand and promote the INEOS "20 Principles of Safety", assuring that others are aware of safe working practices and promote the safety concepts of "Coaching for Safety" and "Stop Work". Promote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to promote safety to the fullest extent possible. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and strive to meet internal SHE objectives. Complete training requirements as outlined in the annual training schedule. Work Duties Work independently or in conjunction with other operators to Start up, Maintain, and Shut down the loading processes under normal and emergency conditions as outlined in operating procedures. Monitor the loading instrumentation and equipment to collect information and ensure proper operation.Typical instrumentation and equipment would include but not be limited to gauges (temperature, pressure, flow), pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, vessels, and filters. Perform adjustments on the DCS and in the field to maintain desired loading parameters.This would typically consist of but not be limited to changing controller set points or adjusting manual valves to maintain desired temperature, pressure, flow, level, and vacuum levels. Operate heavy equipment such as a track-mobile that is associated with moving empty / full railcars to facilitate the loading activities. Perform routine rounds through the intermediate tank farm, main tank farm, loading area, and rail spurs. Record process information and operating activities on log sheets and in logbooks. Collect samples as outlined in the sample plan or as requested.Make visual comparisons of samples to determine if they are of the proper color, temperature, viscosity, etc.Perform routine lab analysis on collected samples.This would typically include but not be limited to pH, conductivity, temperature, and color. Update Loading/Shift Supervisor or Loading Area Operator on process conditions.This would typically include but not be limited to loading changes, upset conditions, and equipment failures. Work in conjunction with other operators to maintain stable operation of the plant by communicating pertinent process information.This would typically include but not be limited to loading changes, upset conditions, and equipment failures. Work with supervision to troubleshoot and optimize the process.This would typically include but not be limited to conditions affecting safety, efficiency, capacity, and product quality. Prepare equipment and pipe systems for removal, maintenance, or repairs.This will be performed under the guidance of supervision.This work will require pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying of parts, equipment, and tools.It will also require the use appropriate tools and PPE to properly open, close, remove, and secure items. Perform routine plant maintenance and repairs.This would typically include but not be limited to the removal and installation of piping, valves, pumps, equipment, insulation, and instrumentation.This work will be performed under the guidance of shift supervision and possibly in conjunction with maintenance personnel. This work will require pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying of parts, equipment, and tools.It will also require the use appropriate tools and PPE to properly open, close, remove, and secure items. Perform routine and non-routine housekeeping required to maintain designated process area clean and safe. Make the necessary field connections for loading/unloading operations. Turn valves or move controls to maintain system at specified temperature, pressure and flowrate. Assist supervision in developing and reviewing operating procedures. Assist the Safety Department in reviewing and auditing the process as requested. Maintain up-to-date certifications, qualifications, and training records based on regulatory agency compliance and the INEOS emergency response team requirements, including off-site activities. Maintain up-to-date certifications, qualifications, and training records based on the INEOS operator progression policy. Perform Job Tasks as outlined in JTBs and SOPs. Skills & Knowledge Required Education/Experience Satisfactory completion of all procedures outlined in the training required to perform loading/unloading activities.Familiarity with loading/unloading operations and pertinent regulations. Skills/Competencies The use of the following office equipment will be required: Personal computer, calculator, multi-line telephone, copier, printer, scanner, fax The use of the following software could be required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), Skype, Visio, Adobe (PDF), Share Point, SAP, Microsoft Project The use of the following site systems could be required: Honeywell Distributive Control System, Uniformance Data Historian, COA Database, Training Mine, Alfresco Document Management, Esker Ability to use: The use of the following electronic devices will be required: electronic calculator, personal computer, and two-way radio, LEL/O2 meter.Knowledge of the following software will be required: Distributive Control System (DCS), Data Historian, spreadsheets, word processor, e-mail, and document management.The use of the following tools and equipment will be required: forklift, loading chocks, railcar switching engine, hand tools, ladder, chain hoists, power washer, and man lift. Physical Requirements Medium Work:Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions:One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin:fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. The worker is subject to oils:There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids. The worker is required to wear a respirator.
