Description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Loader is responsible for loading and unloading the company's trucks, third-party trucks, and the activities within the fence of the parking lot. These initiatives may include backing up trucks to dock stations, loading customer orders onto the trucks, supporting the Transportation Supervisor and all teammates in the company, supports with coordinating to ensure that all customer orders get delivered in a timely manner. The Loader will report to the Transportation Supervisor. The incumbent must have the initiative to execute all projects assigned by the direct supervisor or other management. The Loader will have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership abilities and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Loads and unloads shipments as required; constant lifting of boxes weighing up to 60 pounds each
  • Loads trucks according to truck mapping and special instructions
  • Loads product in a manner to avoid damages and maintain load stability to ensure driver safety
  • Wraps pallets by machine or hand to ensure stability
  • Unloads and cleans out trucks as necessary
  • Operates stock trucks and mechanical jacks throughout the facility constantly in a safe manner
  • Prepares products for shipment under general supervision by weighing, handling, and transporting as necessary
  • Hand loads product onto trucks as required. Pushing and pulling of pallets with a pallet jack
  • Marks, addresses, loads, and packs products for proper delivery and condition
  • Picks up, loads, and unloads damaged goods and customer returns, and completes necessary paperwork
  • Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and places in a designated customer storage area
  • Complies with all safety regulations and standards
  • This may include transporting products down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions
  • Maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand carts, pallets, load bars, and personal protective equipment
  • Maintains sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer, assists with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard, and proper handling of the product.
  • Assists transportation supervisor
  • Works all shifts and weekends when required
  • Must past DOT physical
  • Possess leadership and initiative to drive projects effetely and in a timely manner
  • Drives trucks that contain a box up to 30 feet
  • Drives standard transmissions
  • Attends all required company meetings
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

  • Education: No specific educational requirements; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Valid driver's license, 1yr experience in loading & unloading trucks, and 1yr of forklift & pallet jack experience.
