Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of legal matters, primarily focusing on medical malpractice cases. The position offers the flexibility of working remotely one day per week. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of state and federal court procedures, case management, and legal research. If you are a certified paralegal with at least 3 years of experience and a passion for the legal industry, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist attorneys in the preparation, filing, and management of medical malpractice cases in both state and federal courts.
2. Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools like LexusNexus to support case preparation and strategy development.
3. Manage e-filing of court documents, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of submissions.
4. Organize and maintain case files, documents, and evidence for easy retrieval and reference.
5. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
6. Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court dates, ensuring all parties are appropriately informed.
7. Liaise with clients, court officials, and other legal professionals in a professional and courteous manner.
8. Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends relevant to medical malpractice.

Qualifications:

1. Certified Paralegal with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
2. Proven experience with medical malpractice cases.
3. Proficiency in e-filing and case management systems.
4. Extensive experience in conducting legal research using tools like LexusNexus.
5. Familiarity with state and federal court procedures and rules.
6. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information.
