Job Details

The candidate must have 5 or more years of litigation experience to join the practice as a partner-track senior associate. This position would be a Co-Litigation Lead. Must have litigation experience preferably in business or commercial finance. Seeking a good litigator. This candidate needs to know how to handle sophisticated disputes. Can handle a matter with confidence without too much support/guidance.

Must have superior academic credentials. Your resume should reflect real academic acc omplishment and leadership at your law school.

Seeking someone who has the skills (or has demonstrated an ability to develop the skills) to do complex litigation matters. Prefers someone with a finance background that has experience with securities. (can read financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, understands the finance market, etc)

In general, they are not seeking people who have experienced or have been trained in the areas of foreclosure, debt collection, workers compensation, personal injury (plaintiff or defense), or individual bankruptcy. The associates will be working on far fewer and much more complex cases.

Expectations include the ability to take responsibility for preparing and presenting cases for trial (with assistance), including strategy discussion, discovery, records reviews, client interviews and witness preparation, deposition, and witness examination.
Analytical, writing, research and trial presentati on skills are required.
Trial experience is highly preferred.
Ability to negotiate and oversee settlement negotiations with outside parties on legal disputes including settlement conferences.
Applicants must be licensed in the State of Illinois and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Applicants must be able to work collegially and willing to assist and mentor junior associates.
Prefer someone willing to hustle and bring in new business.
