Mount Indie is seeking a senior-level Linux Engineering professional to support the US Strategic Command (STRATCOM) J61 in the Command and Control Facility (C2F) at Offutt AFB, NE. Responsibilities:
•Provide technical expertise, direction, and oversight for Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4), and Information Technology (IT) engineering programs that span current and future mission sets.
•Recommend and implement Linux-based technologies and develop strategies to meet evolving infrastructure and capability requirements.
•Design and optimize Linux-driven operational C4IT architectures, ensuring they align with mission objectives.
•Plan and execute duties as the designated Service Owner for Linux Architecture & Engineering, and Linux-based Cloud Integration.
•Provide technology market research, prepare business case analyses (BCAs) for leadership, and leverage national labs, industry, and academia best practices when crafting Linux-focused solutions, architectures, and roadmaps.
•Drive innovation in Linux systems by refining processes and developing/implementing/supporting validated solutions in areas like revision control, configuration management, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and DevSecOps to meet future mission requirements
•Provide comprehensive technical solutions on Linux systems engineering, emphasizing change control, configuration management, and streamlined update processes. Required Qualifications:
•Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI clearance
•At least 12 years' experience as an IT Subject Matter Expert with at least 4 years of documented experience with systems engineering and/or relevant technical systems engineering processes.
•Education equivalency: Master's degree in any engineering discipline or computer science can be substituted for 6 years of IT experience. A Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline or Computer Science can be substituted for 4 years of IT experience.
•Demonstrated project management skills with a minimum of 2 years of monitoring, managing, and assessing progress of complex IT projects
•Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining systems that comply with DoD cybersecurity policy, DoD Software Modernization policy, and DevSecOps architectures
•Experience on software defined approaches for Platform as a Service (PaaS)
•IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent) is required, or willingness to obtain within six months of hire.
•Minimum five years' proven ability in written and verbal communication, particularly in the domain of Linux systems and technologies.
•Minimum five years' experience demonstrating effective interpersonal skills and professionalism when interacting with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Red Hat Identity Management (IdM)
•ITIL 4 experience or certification
•Familiarity with MOSA
