Job Posting Title: Life Safety Systems Specialist (Positions Available for the School Year) Job Description: Responsible for the maintenance and testing of fire alarm and sprinkler systems and components. Assists with troubleshooting and corrective issues with systems. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Constant lifting, five (5) to twenty (20) pounds Frequent lifting, twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds Occasional lifting over fifty (50) pounds Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders Constant bending, squatting, standing, reaching, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, stooping, and repetitive motions Frequent overhead work Position Specific Information (if Applicable): We are looking to hire one Life Safety Systems Specialist. Dependent upon qualifications, we have Level I, II, III available. The compensation range for new hire candidates for each are as follows: Life Safety System Specialist I: $18.64 to $24.065 Life Safety System Specialist II: $20.48 to $25.60 Life Safety System Specialist III: $23.60 to $30.74 Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Work with electrical, maintenance contractors, and Douglas County School District Construction departments. Make recommendations on purchases of parts, materials, and equipment. Maintain necessary records and reports. Coordinate maintenance and inspection activities with other trades and school staff. Inspect, test, repair, and maintain fire alarms, signal equipment, and sprinkler systems. Certifications: National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies - Level I Fire Alarm Systems - National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies - Level I Fire Alarm Systems - National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) - National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies - Level I Inspection & Test of Water-Based Systems. - NICET Education: High School or Equivalent Skills: Position Type: Regular Primary Location: West Building A - O&M Offices One Year Only (Yes or No): No Scheduled Hours Per Week: 40 FTE: 1.00 Approx Scheduled Days Per Year: (260 days indicates a year-round position. Time off or Off-Track Days are then granted based on the position. Any exceptions to the normal off-track time will be noted in the Additional Position Details section above, as scheduled work days.) Minimum Hire Rate: $20.93 USD Hourly Maximum Hire Rate: $27.50 USD Hourly Full Salary Range: $20.93 USD - $34.07 USD Hourly All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE.
