About Our Job The City and County of Denver, Community Corrections Department is excited to bring 2 (two) licensed therapists (LCSW, LPC, LAC, LMFT) to support reentry services at our women's and men's residential centers. These positions will perform professional level mental health treatment services and skills including case management, counseling, referral, placement, and assessment /evaluation on complex assignments. The goal of these programs is to teach clients practical skills and tools needed to be successful upon reentry into the community. Emphasis is placed on treatment that specifically addresses social learning using skill-building activities to assist with cognitive, social, emotional, and coping skills development. Our positions are located at 10500 E Smith Road for our men's residential center and 4280 Kearney Street for our women's residential facility. Interested applicants must be willing to work in a secure setting and available to work non-traditional shifts and workdays. Job responsibilities include but not are not limited to: Facilitation of groups with the client population Individual meetings with clients to address their individual responsivity needs Documenting individual and group client interactions Modeling pro-social behaviors and providing on-going behavior change feedback to clients Completing assessments as determined by the client's individual treatment needs Discharge planning with client and assigned case management staff Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and duties on a day-to-day basis as each day will not be the same as the day before Responding to emergent needs within the facility for crisis About You Our ideal candidate will have: Have experience working in Community Corrections or with a Criminal Justice Involved Population Strong EHR skills Knowledge of research and interviewing techniques sufficient to be able to determine what information is needed, secure and analyze desired information, and formulate logical recommendations Consistent attention to detail and the ability to multitask Commitment to working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure work is completed timely Motivated to work with high risk/high need clients and ability to demonstrate a healthy working alliance with clients to assist them with behavior change and risk reduction Master's degree in counseling, social work or related field Will have certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or by the completion of probation Below are the minimum requirements used to determine eligibility for this position: Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Marriage and Family Counseling, Guidance and Counseling, or a closely related field. Experience: Two (2) years of experience at the type and level of Therapist - Master's Level. Education & Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted. Licensure & Certification: By position, possession of a Clinical Social Worker license under the provisions of the Colorado Revised Statutes for the State Board of Social Worker Examiners. OR By position, possession of a clinical license issued by the Colorado Mental Health Board such as Professional Counselor or Marriage and Family Therapist.
