Overview Position Summary: The Developmental and Behavioral Health Center is seeking to hire a full-time Psychologist to join the Autism Center at Children's Hospital Los Angeles to provide evaluation and treatment services. The individual will lead a multi-disciplinary team comprised of a Speech-Language Pathologist and Occupational Therapist to conduct diagnostic evaluations of children/adolescents with suspected autism spectrum disorder and/or other neurodevelopmental disabilities. The individual may also provide individual therapy, family therapy and parent training to individuals. Therapy caseload will vary based on the psychologist's clinical expertise and program areas of need. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing diagnostic evaluation services for children and adolescents with suspected autism and/or other neurodevelopmental disabilities. As the lead of a multi-disciplinary team, this includes: Conducting the intake interview with the child and caregivers, Clarifying the goals of the evaluation, Helping to formulate the multi-disciplinary assessment plan, Carrying out psychodiagnostics assessments (e.g. ADOS-2, cognitive assessment, standardized parent interviews), Reviewing documentation and assessments from Regional Centers, schools and private therapists Contributing to the diagnostic formulation, and Leading the feedback discussion with the child and family Providing individual, family, and group therapies, including intake assessments, development of treatment plans, provision of evidence-based treatment and case management. Ensuring that documentation of clinical services is completed in a timely manner in the electronic medical record. Completes full evaluation reports for delivery to patient and family in a timely manner. Responds to patient communications and coordinates with other providers as necessary to provide patient care. May provide teaching and consultative services to other professionals and health care trainees such as graduate students, residents, and psychology fellows. Minimum Qualification / Work Experience: Clinical experience (5+ years) with individuals from early childhood through young adulthood (at least 22 years of age) and their families. Clinical experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental disorders and mental health comorbidities, such as anxiety and depression. Expertise across all 5 modules of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2). Familiar with standardized parent report measures of autism symptoms (e.g. ADI-R, CARS, SRS, SCQ). Experience with developmental and cognitive assessments appropriate for children and adolescents of varying ages and abilities (e.g. Bayley-4, Mullen Scales of Early Learning, Wechsler tests, Leiter-3, Sanford Binet-5). Well-versed in the implementation of evidence-based treatments. Model high standards of professional, responsible, accountable, and ethical behavior. Supervised professional experience providing therapy to a pediatric psychology population is required. Previous consultation and liaison experience within a medical setting is strongly preferred. Knowledge of the various psychosocial aspects of commonly referred medical conditions is strongly preferred. Experience supervising trainees is preferred. Training in Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP) is strongly preferred. Experience conducting psychological and developmental assessments is preferred. Prefer bilingual competence (Spanish/English). Education/Licensure/Certification: Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D., in School, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology; prefer education from an APA-accredited program. License in psychology in California. BLS Certification required. Pay Scale Information USD $76,128.00 - USD $137,030.40 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
