This position will be filled based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. What you will be doing: Provide high quality care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. This position provides clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams. Focus will be on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes. The first installment will be paid at the midway point of the probation period. The second installment will be paid upon successful completion of the probation period. Who we are looking for: Position-specific knowledge, skills and abilities that are desired or contribute to the success in this position: Considerable knowledge and skill of the principles and practices of nursing, behavior, and needs of patients. Ability to observe and evaluate reactions and changes in the physical behavioral and mental condition of patients and to think and act quickly in emergencies. Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients. Ability to administer treatments and medications and observe for and report adverse reactions. Ability to maintain records and to prepare clear, concise reports. Other Job information: This position is in support of the Pioneer Home, which is a 24-hour facility. This Pioneer Home is an Eden Alternative facility, where the environment includes contact with plants, flowers, and pets including cats, dogs, fish, and birds. NURSE 1 Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska. Special Note: Candidates not currently licensed by the State of Alaska, who otherwise meet the eligibility requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska and requisite qualifying experience, may apply for vacancies in this job class. Applicants qualifying under this option may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of licensure will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty. Some positions may require the successful applicant to pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting, as a prerequisite to employment. NURSE 2 Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska; AND EITHER Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Nurse I with the State of Alaska; OR One year of entry level experience as a Registered Nurse. Examples of this experience include but are not exclusively limited to prior service as a Nurse I, Corrections Nurse I, or Psychiatric Nurse I with the State of Alaska or its equivalent with another employer. Substitution: Combinations of prior training and experience as a Registered Nurse in other specializations of nursing care (e.g., Psychiatric, Corrections, Public Health, Critical Care, Surgical) will be evaluated for comparability on a case-by-case basis.
