Position Summary

Licensed Practical Nurses provide care for the residents in the Health Center and acts as a charge nurse for the State Test Nurse Aides. Licensed Practical Nurse does everything within their scope of practice per the OBN under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Supervisor. At the Napoleon Campus, we offer part-time Licensed Practical Nurses for night shift position. This position is 12-hours shifts from 7pm-7am.

Benefits

Sign-on Bonus of $3,000 for part-time. Accountability incentive of $1.50/hour for part-time and pick-up pay of $8/hour.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides primary direction to the State Tested Nursing Assistants on assigned unit/floor/wing to ensure effective care is provided to residents.
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments to residents. Performs assessments i.e. vitals, intakes, outputs, etc.
  • Performs direct care functions (assists with ADLs & ensures residents, spiritual, emotional and physical needs).
  • Processes physician's orders, labs, x-rays, etc. and seek out clarification when necessary.
  • Communicates appropriately with physicians, pharmacists, family members, etc. to discuss ongoing care of residents.
  • Process new resident admissions and communicate admission information to department heads, as appropriate.
  • Completes paperwork, medical forms, charting and all required documentation as a part of the resident care process and transition of care process. Complete change of shift duties.
  • Assists in maintaining infection control program, policies and procedures.
  • Reports allegations of abuse/neglect and reports, as appropriate, to proper organization leadership.
  • Reports hazardous incidents, including but not limited to, injuries, equipment, etc. to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
  • I mplements and follows disaster plans in the event of an emergency.
  • Participates in committees as assigned.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • Current State of Ohio LPN License. One to two years of experience in long-term care setting preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in long-term care setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic computer skills.
  • Ability to learn new software applications as required by the position.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives, managers, supervisors and direct care staff, as well as residents, families and physicians.
  • Understands directions; communicates and responds to inquiries promptly.
