As the Practical Nurse you are responsible for providing safe, high-quality nursing care for patients in line with the GenesisCare Vision. The Practical Nurse is responsible for providing excellent clinical nursing services according to GenesisCare policy and procedures and appropriate State Scope of Practice regulations, as delegated directly or indirectly by the Physician, APP, and/or registered nurse. What you'll do: Collaborates with Oncologists and the multidisciplinary team related to patient care Provides direct patient care during exam, procedures, and treatment Assists the Physician or APP with patient exams, procedures, and treatment Practices nursing in a way that ensures the rights, confidentiality, dignity, and respect of people are upheld following all HIPAA Laws and regulations Documents patient information, including appropriate vital signs Collects and prepares laboratory specimens Obtains and communicates results (laboratory, pathology, diagnostic studies) to physician(s) and APP Prepares and administers medications by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections as directed by a physician or other licensed provider Tends to wound care and dressing changes Performs venipuncture and or IV administration as allowed according to State Board of Nursing Scope of Practice. Provides comprehensive patient education Attends annual OSHA/Biomedical update meetings and application in the clinical setting Maintains professional development and licensure, and sets goals to address gaps or desired growth Contributes to the team effort by assisting with team goals Brings a positive, enthusiastic, and 'can-do' attitude to work Develops and maintain professional working relationships Resonates with the high performance GenesisCare culture Who you are: Essential: Hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted State License - LPN/LVN Hold IV certification as required by your BON Current BLS certification Desirable: Experience in the field of oncology, working with a variety of patients Minimum of 1 year as a Practical Nurse Experience working with an electronic medical record Other requirements for this role: Professional accountability for scope of practice Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers Well-developed organisational and time management skills Sensitivity and diplomacy Provide delivery of culturally sensitive and appropriate nursing care Practice in accordance with all legislation affecting professional nursing practice Provide support to healthcare team (however titled) and to others providing patient care, to ensure care is provided as outlined within the plan of care and according to institutional policies, protocols and guidelines.
