Licensed Practical Nurse

UPMC is currently hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our outpatient office on Pine Street. This is an all-inclusive Primary Care office with both Family Medicine & Pediatric providers. The position we are hiring for is primarily Monday-Friday, with Saturday mornings covered on a rotation by all office nurses. A typical Monday - Friday work week consists of 4 day shifts (as scheduled between 7:00am - 5:00pm) and 1 evening shift (10:30am - 7:00pm). When scheduled to cover Saturday morning (4hrs: 8:00am - 12:00pm) you will have a half day during the week, typically on Friday. Sign-On Bonus Details: $5,000.00 - 2yr Commitment 0-1 years experience & recent graduates $7,500.00 - 2yr Commitment 1+ years experience Purpose: Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. Responsibilities: Draw blood. Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health). Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM, and IV drip. Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight. Comply with all policies and procedures. Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse. Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record. Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, and communicating physician advice/instructions. Qualifications: Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
