Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Description

The LPN III is an experienced nurse who demonstrates competency in all aspects of job requirements. The LPN functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN provides nursing care, performs basic nursing procedures and administers medications. The LPN III is self-motivated and takes responsibility for the development and nurturing of self. This nurse projects a positive image, is flexible in accepting assignments, has a positive attitude and is a team player. Accepts responsibility for actions and participates in unit functions including staffing unit in times of need and promoting best practice to improve patient outcomes. This nurse will take an active role in patient and staff education and Performance Improvement and patient safety initiatives at the unit level.

Education

Experience
Three years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.

Licenses Certifications

Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse or Multistate Nursing License

Healthcare Provider (CPR)

Qualifications
NOTE: ACLS within 6 months of hire into ED, ICU, Surgery, PACU, L D, SSU if taking GI call, or Cath Lab.
NOTE: NRP within 6 months of hire into Nursery and L D.
NOTE: PALS within one year of hire in PACU

NOTE: BLS required within 30 days of hire.
Qualifications as designated in Nursing Clinical Ladder Policy.
