We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes. Our agency is mandated to adhere to Executive Order regarding vaccination mandate or attaining medical/religious exemption and adhering to weekly testing. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hours: This is a Part-Time position. Weekdays 8:30AM-4:30PM 3 days per week; 1 Floating Evening Shift; Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the programs. This position requires travel between the agencys main office, group homes, day program center and within the community. Agency vehicle available. This is a non-exempt part time position, generally requiring 24 hours; flexibility is required to meet the needs of the program and regular attendance of staff meetings. Salary: Hourly - $27.00 per hour JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the licensed practical nurse is to work with the Nurse Manager in the provision of medical care to the clients of DPD. The LPN will work within the scope of nursing practice and adhere to the Standards of Care for the Practical Nurse. The LPN will work with all members of the health care team to provide consistent safe nursing care by utilizing therapeutic communication techniques, the nursing process, and sound judgment based on knowledge and nursing skills. The nurse will accept responsibility for personal and professional continuing education and demonstrate accountability in nursing practices. Under the supervision of the registered nurse the licensed practical nurse will ensure effective implementation of health promotion and prevention practices, management of acute and chronic illnesses, and attainment of optimal levels of functioning and/or support of the client and significant others. The nurse will cooperate with agency's administration and/or Division and DHS staff in any inspection or investigation. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing with current license to practice as an LPN in the State of New Jersey. Minimum two years in successful nursing practice or working with adults with disabilities. Must maintain certification as an American Red Cross FA and CPR trainer. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective communication and interpersonal relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team, clients, families, visitors and staff. Previous experience treating people with developmental disabilities preferred. Must have a driver's license, which is valid in the State of New Jersey. This position requires the use of agency vehicles to conduct agency business. Knowledge of and proficiency with computer programs is required. The Licensed Practical Nurse must have a physical exam including drug test and mantoux prior to employment. Must meet fingerprint requirement and drug test requirements.
