We are interviewing Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility in Kingstree, SC

NOTE: All applicants should be open to working onsite in Kingstree, SC 3 days a week.

Broadstep Behavioral Health is actively hiring for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Kingstree, SC area. This role oversees individuals' health through observing and assessing their records, symptoms, and reactions to treatment and care. The LPN performs as a liaison with individual's families as well as guiding and instructing them in aftercare measures.

South Carolina offers a continuum of services to meet individual needs and is CARF accredited.

Schedule & Location:
  • Day Shift (7a-7p) with every other weekend off.
  • Located in Kingstree, SC

Job Type:

This is a fully onsite role that is not eligible for remote work.

Job Duties:

  • Participates with the interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care activities as needed.
  • Provides general nursing support for the program under the supervision of the registered nurse to perform patient-centric, trauma informed, safe, effective, timely, and efficient individual care. Reports change in condition to the registered nurse when indicated.
  • Administer medications as needed.
  • Reviewing care plans and providing input as needed
  • Acting as a liaison with doctors, social workers, and other professionals
  • Provides encouragement support and reinforces positive behavior with a therapeutic, calm approach while maintaining therapeutic boundaries, setting limits, and utilizing de-escalation techniques, including physical intervention skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and record relevant information for the most common diagnostic groups.
  • Effectively establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Utilizes Trauma Informed Care philosophies when interacting with patients and families.
  • Leads, or co-leads and/or reinforces teaching of symptom management.
  • Performs admission, discharge, and transfer process under the supervision of the registered nurse.
  • Utilizes therapeutic, Trauma Informed intervention techniques before, during and after the time of crisis to support safe patient de-escalation.
  • Assists with physical crisis intervention techniques and physical restraint during specific crisis situations per policy as needed.
  • The LPN possesses excellent communication skills and may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as a part of the responsibility of their role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of word processing
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with males and females of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge of all individual rights and the ability to identify, intervene and report appropriately when observing a violation.
  • Knowledge of the confidentiality policy and HIPAA laws, and always apply the practices governing those policies and legislation.
  • Knowledge of all company transportation procedures and operates all personal and company vehicles in accordance with those policies.
  • Knowledge of all company crisis/emergency plans and applies that knowledge during each test drill and actual crisis.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Required Education/Licenses/Credentials:
  • Actively Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in South Carolina.
  • Must possess a current BLS certification.
  • Meet all licensing requirements set forth by the respective state of operation.

Other Requirements:
  • A minimum of one year of experience working in a hospital, corrections, or mental health facility.
