Candidate requirements
Job specification - Performing basic nursing duties such as executing physician orders, managing pill calls, and sick calls, and assisting physicians in examinations and treatments, while ensuring technical and clinical procedures fall within the scope of their license.
- Assisting in the professional management of the medical department in the facility.
- Applying appropriate nursing skills to provide care and treatment to patients.
- Attending sick calls with physicians, preparing a list of patients to be examined, and ensuring the examining room and equipment are ready.
- Operating pill calls, dispensing medication, and documents as required by applicable policies or procedures.
- Controlling medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment and inventory, as required by established procedures.
- Maintaining absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records.
Candidate requirements - Completion of a state-approved LPN program
- Current and valid LPN license in the state of Oklahoma
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to work in a secure correctional facility environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of nursing principles and practices
- Ability to provide basic medical care and medication administration.
