This position serves under general supervision of the Registered Nurse, independently performing a variety of skilled practical nursing functions for physically ill, disabled, or geriatric residents in an assigned nursing unit and shift. Essential Functions 25% Under the general supervision, independently performs a variety of skilled practical nursing functions for physically ill, disabled, or geriatric residents in an assigned nursing unit and shift. 25% Observes, records and reports to physicians, registered nurses, or the supervisory nurse the symptoms, reactions, and changes in residents' conditions. 15% Provides for the emotional and physical comfort and security of residents. 15% Assists in maintaining working and living areas and supplies in good order 10% Assists in providing guidance to nursing assistants relative to nursing techniques 5% Performs selected nursing functions in situations which do not require the specialized knowledge and skill of a registered nurse. 5% Performs other duties as assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above Minimum Qualifications Requires Illinois license as a practical nurse. Requires one (1) year of practical nursing experience. Conditions of Employment Requires ability to pass a background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical. Requires ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance. Requires ability to acquire and maintain Cardio-Pulmonary Recitation (CPR) Certificate. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
