Position Summary:The
Plumber is responsible for the operation, monitoring and maintenance of plumbing and related plant equipment and systems throughout the healthcare system.
- Must be reliable and perform at a high level of efficiency, while assuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations
- Works in partnership with other Engineering and Contractor staff
- Periodically works off shifts and weekends as requested by supervisor
- Will respond during off-hours call in to address system failures or other emergencies
Minimum Qualifications:- High School or vocational school graduate, or equivalent
- Holds at minimum, a current P2 Connecticut trade license
- Shall have basic working knowledge of physical plant systems, including steam, chilled water and plumbing.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics.
- Ability to work with others of similar and various trades both within the hospital plant operations group and outside contractors.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, strong problem solving and communication skills.
