Lifespan is hiring. We are currently searching for Emergency Services Clinicians (LICSW/LMHC/LMFT) for Access Centerat Bradley Hospital.

Job Location: 1011 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, Riverside, RI 02915

Hours: 40 hours per week (M-F)

About Access Center:

The Access Center at Bradley Hospital fields hundreds of calls per week from physicians, parents, schools and community providers.

Our clinicians are specially trained to perform evaluations for children and adolescents in need of inpatient, outpatient or partial hospitalization, and will direct each child to the most appropriate and effective services for his or her needs.

SUMMARY:

Provides emergency triage, evaluation, brief treatment, and clinical referrals to children, adolescents and families through the Lifespan Pediatric Behavioral Health Emergency Services (LPBHES) Department, a partnership between Bradley Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital & Gateway Healthcare. Work may occur at different sites, including Gateway offices, Bradley Hospital, and Rhode Island Hospital. Clinician meets the responsibilities of the Department of Social Work and Counseling.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates and promotes conduct which is consistent with Lifespan-wide and profession specific Code of Ethics.

Performs all job responsibilities in a professional manner meeting all ethical responsibilities to clients, colleagues, employer, employing organization and the profession as described in the profession specific Code of Ethics.

Demonstrates an investment in professional development.

Actively pursues opportunities for professional development and meets continuing education requirements of the social work and counseling department.

Will participate in Social Work and Counseling departmental meetings and educational activities as job responsibilities allow.

Performs job responsibilities, is active in identifying areas for professional growth and takes initiative in raising related questions and issues.

Provides urgent and emergency triage (either by phone or in-person) and conducts clinical assessments across Lifespan emergency service sites. This includes, but is not limited to, Bradley Access, Hasbro emergency department, and Gateway community sites. Additionally, our service is one that operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, and employees may be required to work different shifts as service needs require.

Consults with Gateway intake and Bradley patient registration staff as needed around the scheduling of patients for community evaluations.

Manages the disposition of cases seen through the Kids'Link emergency service.

Collaborates with other members of the Lifespan PBHES Team per protocol.

Manages crisis intervention with patients and families awaiting inpatient admissions or assessed as a candidate for intensive outpatient care as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization.

Evaluates children, adolescents and families independently.

Completes accurate and timely documentation as per the Access Center's Policy and Procedure Manual.

Provides psychotherapy with children, adolescents and families meeting criteria for admission to the treatment service and within the degree of clinical privileges as per departmental standards. Includes the ability to provide care within a brief treatment model for appropriate cases.

Collaborates with other clinicians involved in the treatment or ongoing evaluation of the individual or family.

Observes and enforces hospital policies, procedures and guiding principles including quality improvement, quality assurance, infection control, risk management and safety.

Observes all policies and procedures. Maintains good work habits, arriving on time and as scheduled.

EDUCATION:

Master's Degree in related field from an accredited school required.

Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years post Masters experience in a mental health setting, working with children, adolescents and families.

Independent licensure required LICSW, LMHC or LMFT.

Eligible for privileging in three of the five areas of clinical practice: individual psychotherapy with children, individual psychotherapy with adolescents/adults, family therapy, group therapy, and diagnostic assessment.

Experience in emergency assessment/crisis management of children/adolescents/families preferred.
