Position Overview:
The Laboratory Technician II is under the general direction of the Laboratory Manager and his/her designee(s) while performing his/her duties.
Job Description:
EDUCATION
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Other: Medical laboratory related course work.
OR Associate's or two (2) years college
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
MLT-Medical Laboratory Technician
CPTI-Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Upon Hire
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred but not limited to: customer service, specimen processing, instrument preventive maintenance and testing preferred.
Previous experience in a medical setting as a laboratory assistant or phlebotomist for a period of one (1) year to demonstrate competency in a highly technical environment.
Experience in a variety of technical laboratory sections is preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, phlebotomy skills, knowledge of specimen preparation techniques and principles of operation of common laboratory instruments.
A working knowledge of laboratory information systems is required.
Excellent communication skills and phone manners.
Ability to follow complicated instructions with accuracy and perform detailed tasks thoroughly and completely.

Pay Range is $32.93 to $41.36 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
