Our client, a global law firm located in the Financial district is seeking a permanent Legal Word Processor for a Hybrid 2nd Shift Monday- Friday 4p-12a.
Position Summary:
Professional Word Processing Specialist with seven to fifteen years of experience preferably in the WP Department of a law firm. This individual should have demonstrated proficiency in document production, understand urgency, be flexible and be able to communicate with all levels at the firm.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical:
• turn-around documents and projects accurately and expeditiously
• follow Best Practices
• QA check own work (no proofreader on staff)
• research new projects; create quick guides when new projects warrant it
• troubleshoot for self and Users
• will be trained to work on projects for other departments
Administrative:
• record all activity in the WP Traffic Log (incoming/outgoing work, times worked)
• must understand, adhere to protocols, procedures and policies at Firm and Department levels
• monitor the WP email production Inbox and Conflicts email production Inbox
• prioritize jobs by deadline; negotiate deadlines when necessary
• follow delivery and special instructions provided by Users
• check the WP Inbox to ensure all requests have been handled (ensure nothing is missed)
• flexibility to attend training sessions outside of the regular shift as needed
Position Specific Skills and Requirements
Skills:
• typing speed: 75+ wpm with 5 (or fewer) error count
• speed and accuracy are of utmost importance. (No proofreaders to check work.)
• proficiency in advance features and troubleshooting in the following applications:
o Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Advance functions
o Adobe Acrobat
o OmniPage
o Best Authority
o DocXTools
• edit, input, conversion cleanup, format in full (clean up, style, code) documents
• transcribe using Philips or typing live dictation
• hands-on experience with large documents and projects.
Requirements:
• seven to fifteen years of experience as a Word Processor (preferably in a large law firm)
• regular attendance and punctuality
• overtime and working on some Firm-observed holidays is a job requirement
• enthusiastic to learn and accept new responsibilities
Education and General Requirements:
• degree and certificates are a plus
• seven to fifteen years of hands-on experience as a Word Processor preferably in a law firm.
