We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Legal Assistant to join our Estate Planning team. This position is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in estate planning and estate administration. The successful candidate will support our attorneys in managing and organizing estates, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and communicating with clients and court personnel. This role requires keen attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Legal Assistant - Estate Planning, you will be expected to:

1. Assist in the preparation of estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
2. Manage and organize client files, ensuring all relevant information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
3. Coordinate and schedule client meetings, court dates, and other important events.
4. Draft and review legal documents, including letters of administration, probate applications, and affidavits.
5. Communicate with clients, court personnel, and other parties in a professional and timely manner.
6. Assist in the administration of estates, including the preparation of estate accounts, tax returns, and distribution of assets.
7. Conduct legal research and assist attorneys in preparing for court proceedings.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information, in accordance with legal standards and company policies.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the role of Permanent Legal Assistant - Estate Planning, candidates must possess:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in estate administration.
2. A paralegal certificate or equivalent legal qualification.
3. Proficiency in legal research tools and software applications (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, Microsoft Office Suite).
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
6. A keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy in document preparation and review.
7. A strong understanding of legal terminology and court procedures.
8. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. A commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
10. A proactive approach and the ability to anticipate the needs of attorneys and clients.
