Job Summary The Department of Psychology at Columbus State University seeks applications for a Lecturer of Psychology. The start date for this position is August 1, 2024. Responsibilities Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and student success. Candidates will be expected to teach Lifespan Developmental Psychology, as well as upper-level courses in their specialty. Additional courses candidates may teach include but are not limited to, Aging, Child Development, Research Design & Methods, Statistics, or Writing in Psychology. Preference will be given to candidates who can expand the department's course offerings related to their expertise and engage students using experiential learning strategies. Candidates who have experience with a variety of teaching methods are preferred. Normal teaching load is five classes per semester in both introductory and upper-level psychology courses. Courses may be taught during daytime and evening hours, using a variety of modalities such as face-to-face, online, and hybrid. Required Qualifications Earned PhD with specialization in developmental psychology prior to the start date of August 2024. Additional expertise in applied areas, including but not limited to clinical, counseling, or community psychology is preferred but not required. Proposed Salary Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
