The Opportunity

This is a highly collaborative role that supports and contributes to our QBE North America Talent Experience design practice. Leading our learning experience design, this role will be responsible for the design and development of our employee learning. This leadership role will lead two (2) instructional designers to build interactive, learning centered experiences across the business. The role will also lead global programs of work, supporting the design and delivery for our North America team members, ensuring that these experiences positively contribute to our NA organizational priorities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Be responsible and accountable for the learning experience design for team members across our business, delivering learning experiences that help deliver our strategic priorities.
  • Oversee delivery of learning experiences and digital learning content for team members.
  • Act as a true thought partner by measuring and reporting back on results, knowledge transfer, learner reactions, engagement, and behavior change.
  • Design and deliver our team member development content, aligned to our specific functional needs.
  • Manage the local delivery of global initiatives in North America.
  • Combine technical expertise, strategic planning, and a learner centric approach to deliver high impact learning experiences.
  • Engaging in strong diagnosis of business needs to better tailor programming that delivers measurable business impact.
  • Facilitate alignment between multiple projects running simultaneously, identify dependencies, change management requirements, and prioritize accordingly.
  • Upkeep and maintain the quality of learning experiences by managing the inventory and catalogue of resources.
  • Partner with subject matter experts across the business to design learning experiences, certifications and scaled material for continuous learning.
  • Generate a culture of success and collaboration with similar roles in other Divisions of QBE and across the People function.
  • Gain a broad understanding of QBE as a business, the strategy and associated key competencies required to deliver the strategy.
  • Support, design, and facilitation as required of team member and leadership learning experiences.
Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in Adult Learning, Organizational Psychology, Leadership or similar

Required Experience

• 15 years of global progressive experience leading learning and leadership strategic initiatives.
  • Preferred Experience
  • Over ten (10) years of progressive human resources experience in the areas of learning and instructional design.
  • Experience leading and executing talent development initiatives, partnering with senior leaders to understand requirements and build buy in.
  • Experience working with external vendors, assessment providers and content consultancies.
  • Demonstrated experience in simplifying and explaining complex content effectively.
  • High proficiency in authoring and editing tools, including but not limited to Articulate, Adobe Creative, SharePoint and Camtasia.
  • Preferred Competencies/Skills
  • Ability to apply fundamental adult learning principles and practices to needs assessment and the design of learning experiences.
  • Excellent design skills in Adobe Creative, Articulate and Camtasia.
  • Proficiency in learning and content management systems, preferably SharePoint and Workday Learning.
  • Highly developed internal consulting, change management and project management skills.
  • Well-developed teambuilding, organizational navigation, listening, and influencing skills.
  • Stakeholder management and relationship building.
  • Proven track record of creating innovative learning and development experiences to deliver high performance team members.
  • Instructional design experience, including live, online, and hybrid approaches.
  • Strong consultation and project management skills.
  • Ability to blend innovative development approaches with pragmatic delivery.
  • Data analysis skills to identify requirements and inform development actions.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Passion for creating highly engaging, best in class learning experiences.
  • Strategic mindset with a willingness to be hands on as required.
  • Strong track record in delivering strategic and tactical initiatives in a fast-paced, high quality environment.
Preferred Knowledge
  • Deep instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Financial services industry knowledge and exposure advantageous

Compensation

Base pay offered will vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location and business needs.

Annual Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000

Annual Salary Range: $110,000 - $165,000

CA (Remote, Fresno, Irvine and Woodland), Greenwood Village CO, CT, Chicago IL, MA, MD, NY (Remote), RI, Houston TX and WA

Annual Salary Range: $125,000 - $187,000

San Francisco CA, NJ and New York City NY
