Job Overview: Assists nursing staff with direct patient care activities. Assumes responsibility for providing technical assistance in the environment of the cardiac cath lab. Plans and evaluates care provided. Assists in the delivery of quality patient care through utilization of technical skills. Performs technical duties relating to scrub personnel, including smooth, precise, and efficient reaction to all situations, and assists with departmental work as assigned. Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base. Participates in unit PI activities as it relates to area of specialty. Knows the legal limitations relating to the role of cardiovascular/ radiology technician and acts accordingly. Qualifications: Required: High School Diploma Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program Minimum 2 years experience in CBMC cardiac Cath lab required; Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in area of specialty; Certifications and Licenses Required: Invasive cardiology, licensed RT or RCIS, BLS and ACLS certification required, or completion of requirements for BLS/ ACLS certification within 90 days of hire to the unit.
